Fake news poison
Documentary
The problem
More than half of us get our news mainly through social media. The danger is that we are trapped in information bubbles. As a result, we are easily led to believe fake news and end up spreading it ourselves. Unfortunately, fact-checking by journalists does not entirely solve the problem.
Our response
That’s why we created Roxy, a little elf who’s a film director and whose mission is to investigate human behaviour. She meets the Hungarian anthropologist Tamas David-Barrett, who teaches at Oxford. He has an idea: to bring together people from opposing information bubbles for a ‘ritual of disagreement’. But will it work?
